Applications are invited for the following position under DBT Research Grant:
Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) - One
Project Title:
‘Platelet associated molecular targets for inflammation, vascular integrity,
thrombocytopenia and disease severity in dengue infection’.
Duration of project : 1 year
Tenure: Period of 1 year (likely to be extended beyond 1 year based on satisfactory
performance). The post is purely temporary in nature, co-terminus with the
project.
Educational Qualification:
M.Sc or equivalent degree Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Life sciences / Genetics
/Medical biochemistry/ MLT/ with at least 60% marks and should have completed at least two
years of post MSc research experience as on the last date of application, as evidenced from
fellowship/ associate ship and NET qualified
OR
BE/BTech/BPharm or equivalent degree in biotechnology with at least 60% marks and GATE
qualified and two years research experience as on the last date of application.
OR
M Tech/ME or equivalent degree in Biotechnology with at least 60% marks.
Experience: One year research experience in Molecular biology / Flow cytometry /
Membrane lipid analysis.
Candidates with experience in Proteomics techniques, Mass Spectroscopy, HPLC and
biostatistics and manuscript writing will be given preference.
Documents in support of research experience (not below the undergraduate level) should
be attached
AGE LIMIT:
The upper age limit is 33 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
Age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, OBCs and physically handicapped on
production of suitable certificates from the competent authority. Women candidates are
also given age relaxation of five years.
Stipend: Consolidated salary of Rs.18,000/- per month + 20% HRA as per DBT guidelines.
Note:
The SRF is expected to coordinate work between JIPMER and Central Inter- Disciplinary
Research Facility (CIDRF), Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute,
Puducherry
EMPLOYED CANDIDATES:
This fellowship is held on a full time basis. Therefore simultaneous employment elsewhere is
not permitted. However, those desirous of pursuing higher studies, but employed presently,
whether temporary or permanent may apply with an undertaking that if selected, they will
resign from the job before taking up the fellowship. The application will be rejected if the
undertaking is not enclosed
