Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of SYSTEM / DB ADMINISTRATOR (contract basis – 11 months) at the Directorate of Dairy Development, Pattom P.O, Thiruvananthapuram.

The required Qualifications and Experience for the post are as under:- 

1) Qualification:- B.E / B.TECH in Information Technology / CS from recognised / reputed institution with 3- 5 years of experience in independent environment preferably in government sector with CCNA 

2) Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience essential, 5 years’ experience desirable in relevant areas.

The applicant 

 Shall be familiar with concepts of MIS projects, Networking protocols, LAN Management, IP addresses and class, Subnetting, ILL links, Trouble shooting, in other web and network administration aspects 

 Shall posses knowledge and skill in Data Base Management Systems like PSQL / MySql, backup management . 

 Knowledge of all PostgreSQL Database replication/backup & recovery/mirroring and failover. 

 Good knowledge of PostGRESQL security management, data integrity

 Experience in Database capacity planning, performance tuning, design and data modeling. 

 Good understanding of RHEL/ PostGRESQL database, related utilities and tools and proficient in PostgreSQL installation, upgrading, configuration, management, monitoring & troubleshooting. Red hat Certification will be an added advantage 

 Shall posses knowledge and skill in Java / PHP application deployment as well as trouble 

 shooting 

 Shall have knowledge and experience in Direct Benefit Mode fund transfer operations in Government (desirable) 

 Shall possess excellent problem solving and multitasking skills and be a constant learner 

 Shall be capable of fixing any issues with the design of the network and expansion of network 

 Shall contribute to and maintain system standards. 

 Shall be capable of Installing new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements, addition of new IT resources and Up-gradation of existing IT resources 

 Experience in production support is highly desirable. 

 Should have good communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers.

3) Age - as on 01-01-2016: 25-35 years . Upper age limit relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST/Handicapped candidate and by 3 years for OBC candidates. 

4) Remuneration : Rs 25,000 per month (consolidated) 

5) General Conditions:

a) The Director, Dairy Development Department shall be the final authority for selection of the candidate for the post notified. 

b) Candidate shall submit one application only. Submission of more than one application may lead to rejection of all the applications submitted.

c) Submission of the application does not confer any right on the applicant to be called for further process. 

d) Wrong declaration/submission of false information/incomplete application or any other action contrary to law shall lead to cancellation of the candidature at any stage. 

e) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification and shall lead to cancellation of the candidature. f) The Director, Dairy Development reserves the right to freeze / terminate the contract of appointment at any point of time without any prior notice. 

g) The notice period for resignation from the part of candidate selected shall be 2 months. 

h) The System Administrator shall work as per instructions from The Project Cell / Planning Wing of the Directorate. He shall co-ordinate the automation programme of the department as included in the state plan scheme 2016-17 under the Scheme Component : Documentation and Data Bank Creation coming under the Scheme : Assistance to DCS with HOA : 2404-00-195-94-31

The submitted application / bio-data shall be complete in all aspects including relevant information regarding Name, Age, Qualifications, Marks / Grades obtained, Experience, Relevant technical skills etc. A recent passport size photo of the candidate shall be attached in the bio-data. A self attested copy of mark list and experience certificate shall be attached along with the application.
